Is Overwatch 2 on Steam Deck? We’re here to give you all the details you could want about the hero shooter on Valve’s handheld console.

Is Overwatch 2 Steam Deck compatible?

While for the longest time, Overwatch 2 wasn’t available on Steam, players can rejoice that the game will be coming to Steam and will be Steam Deck compatible on August 10, 2023. This will let players around the globe enjoy the game on their handheld Steam Deck.

Since the game was only on Battle.net for the longest time, as it was a non-Steam game, fans had to resort to using workarounds on the Steam Deck to be able to download the game onto their console. Blizzard is moving all their games to Steam in addition to staying on Battle.net, to make it more accessible. It starts with Overwatch 2.

How to add Overwatch 2 to your Steam Deck

Adding Overwatch 2 to your Steam Deck is easy, just follow these instructions:

  • Open the Store App on your Steam Deck
  • Navigate to Overwatch 2
  • Click the Preload button

This will allow you to add it to your Steam library on the Steam Deck, and once it goes live, you’ll be free to hit the play button and enjoy the full game. You will need to link your Battle.net account to Steam to be able to play though, so make sure you have your log-in handy.

The beloved game has been available on most major platforms for a while now, and Blizzard is trying to expand its reach by adding it to as many gamers as possible, as well as on Steam. With the new season kicking off, it makes it the perfect time to add the title to the PC launcher and its own handheld console to let players take advantage of all the latest updates, new battle pass, and new heroes coming in Season 6.
