How many areas are in Pikmin 4?

In Pikmin 4, there is a total of six areas to explore. This is pretty consistent with past games where there would typically be around five to seven maps. The following locations can be visited in the game:

  • Sun-Speckled Terrace
  • Blossoming Arcadia
  • Serene Shores
  • Hero’s Hideaway
  • Giant’s Hearth
  • Primordial Thicket

Each area that you visit has different Onions for you to discover and a ton of treasure to find. There are even a bunch of creatures to defeat and missions to complete.

To unlock new areas in Pikmin 4, you will need to collect enough treasure from the previous locations. Each new area will have new treasure to find to help you unlock even more locations. This is similar to previous Pikmin games.

Each morning in Pikmin 4, you will have the chance to obtain new items from the research developer before you head out to an area of your choosing. As you complete story objectives, new sections of the maps will become unlocked.

Various caverns in each location such as Last-Frost Cavern and the Industrial Maze will challenge your Pikmin-throwing skills. You will need all of the Pikmin from Blue Pikmin and White Pikmin to the New Pikmin found only in Pikmin 4 to complete all of the areas.
