Pikmin 4 has been years in the making and it brings together many of the mechanics from the older games in the series. This game brings back many enemies like Bulborbs along with the same combat style of past games. Much of the gameplay is the same, but there is more to discover.

Journey to the mysterious planet called PNF-404 and discover new Pikmin types as well as old ones. There are many types of Pikmin to discover. These creatures will help you overcome obstacles and solve puzzles after you crash-land on the planet.

Will there be Rock Pikmin in the game? What about Purple Pikmin? You will see many friendly faces that appeared in past games as well as new ones. Here are all the Pikmin types in Pikmin 4.

Pikmin 4 – All Pikmin types

There have been several types of Pikmin that have been revealed in past trailers. Each of these Pikmin types will be found at some point throughout the game.

Red Pikmin

Red Pikmin are one of the old Pikmin types from the original game. These Pikmin are immune to fire damage, making them great to use in areas with a lot of fire or against fire-shooting enemies. This is the first Pikmin type you will find during your expedition after the Rescue Corps’ Ship goes down.

Yellow Pikmin

Another one of the original Pikmin, the Yellows are immune to electricity. This makes them perfect for destroying electric gates. These Pikmin are also able to carry bombs which are used to destroy stone walls and heavily damage enemies.

Blue Pikmin

The last of the original Pikmin types, the Blue Pikmin are able to breathe when submerged in bodies of water. This makes them perfect for dealing with water mobs and great for crossing puddles.

Winged Pikmin

Similar to Blue Pikmin, the Winged Pikmin are able to cross over bodies of water. This is because they can fly. Winged Pikmin are great for carrying objects and avoiding contact with enemies.

White Pikmin

White Pikmin are immune to poison. Not only that, they are poisonous to creatures that decide to eat them. This makes them great during battle to help weaken foes. This Pikmin type can also dig underground.

Purple Pikmin

Purple Pikmin are the strongest of the Pikmin types and are able to carry more than any of the others. Each of these Pikmin count as three of the other types, making them great for carrying treasure when you don’t have many to spare.

Rock Pikmin

Rock Pikmin are the toughest Pikmin in the game. They are able to destroy rock walls thanks to their rough exteriors. In combat, these Pikmin are able to quickly destroy enemy health with heavy impacts.

Ice Pikmin

One of the new types of Pikmin that are in Pikmin 4 is the Ice Pikmin. This Pikmin type is able to freeze enemies as well as water, creating a solid surface that you can use to walk.

Glow Pikmin

Glow Pikmin are not a regular Pikmin type. Instead of coming out during the day, these Pikmin come out at night and are able to help you with night expeditions.

Oatchi

While not a Pikmin, Oatchi is a new addition to the Pikmin games. You can use Oatchi to help transport Pikmin over the water and get to areas faster. Oatchi can also be used to destroy objects in the environment.

There is a demo that you can download for Pikmin 4 to try out some of the early-game Pikmin types and get the hang of the gameplay.
