How to Swarm or Lineup in Pikmin 4
To Swarm in Pikmin 4, press ZL and the Right stick. However, this can only be done once you have unlocked the Lineup Trumpet. Once you have the Lineup Trumpet, press ZL on your Nintendo Switch controller and move your Pikmin with the Right stick into the direction you want your Pikmin to go.
You can obtain the Lineup Trumpet once you have completed the Side Mission, Music of a Past Culture 3. As a reward, you will receive the Lineup Trumpet after you have found all Musical Treasures. There are 13 to be found.
Swarming will allow your Pikmin to attack enemies in a line formation and surround them. This will allow all your Pikmin to attack them at once instead of Throwing your Pikmin one by one at your enemies.
Using your Pikmin to swarm enemies is another way to attack without delay. This is because your Pikmin will move in a group but must still be close to the leader to receive commands. Using the line formation and swarming will reduce the delay for your Pikmin to return to the leader.
