Fans of the series have been busy searching the trailers for new Pikmin types as well as returning Pikmin colors. Each type of Pikmin has a different ability that makes them stand out, making each of them useful.
Nintendo has shown off many Pikmin types for Pikmin 4. There have also been game modes revealed. Glow Pikmin stand out thanks to their ability to be used at night and in caves. An older type of Pikmin that many have been looking for is Purple Pikmin. Are Purple Pikmin in Pikmin 4?
Can you get Purple Pikmin in Pikmin 4?
Yes! Purple Pikmin are in Pikmin 4. It was revealed in the Pikmin 4 overview trailer that Nintendo released for the game. This trailer goes over the different types of Pikmin you will encounter throughout your journey.
The creatures included in the trailer are:
- Yellow Pikmin
- Red Pikmin
- Ice Pikmin
- Winged Pikmin
- Blue Pikmin
- White Pikmin
- Rock Pikmin
Since all of these types were shown in the trailer, you can expect them to all make an appearance in the game. Specifically, the trailer shows the player character using a swarm of Purple Pikmin to flatten a bag so they may pass through an area.
There are many uses for each type of Pikmin but don’t forget to use their special abilities to your advantage. Purple Pikmin are very strong and great at carrying items. It takes fewer of them to carry an object than it does regular Pikmin.
You can prepare for the release of the game by downloading the demo and giving it a try. While you won’t get your hands on Purple Pikmin in the demo, you will get to try out a few of the Pikmin types.
