Pikmin 4 is the latest game in the Pikmin series. For the most part, the game offers a similar gameplay experience to previous Pikmin games. Of course, there are plenty of new obstacles and puzzles to solve as you explore the mysterious planet.

Throughout Pikmin 4, you will meet new Pikmin types and use them to hunt down Captain Olimar as well as the other castaways. You will also be accompanied by the Rescue Corps Pup Oatchi as you venture forth across the planet.

Pikmin 4 gives you the opportunity to play with friends. It also introduces you to new Pikmin species such as Glow Pikmin. Previous games in the series had multiple game modes. What game modes are in this one? Is there a freeplay mode in Pikmin 4?

Does Pikmin 4 have a freeplay mode?

It is unknown if Pikmin 4 will have a freeplay mode. Despite this, chances are it won’t. Previous Pikmin games don’t have a freeplay mode and instead require you to race against a timer as you explore new areas.

Playing through the free demo of the game, there is proof that no freeplay mode exists. The only gameplay options in the demo are main story mode and Dandori Battles. This could change when the full game releases at the end of July.

Since the first game released, the Pikmin franchise has steadily changed to include more co-op options as well as additional gameplay mechanics. As you progress through Pikmin 4, you will complete various missions on your way to rescue Captain Olimar.

After crash landing on the mysterious planet, it is up to you to collect Sparklium to power the ship by finding treasures. Set off on an adventure to uncover the various Pikmin species and see new areas of teh planet that have yet to be explored. Don’t forget to check out the co-op modes if you get the chance.
