Do you want to build a cargo link in Starfield? Cargo Links are a good way to move resources between outposts. If you decide to ignore quests and missions and instead go on a building spree to collect resources, you will want to establish cargo links between your outposts.

Luckily, building outposts is very difficult in the game. Because of this, you should be able to establish a monopoly on resource collection in a quick way. Then you can take those resources to merchants in places like New Atlantis to get tons of credits.

Rather than destroying an outpost because it is on a planet without a specific resource, you can simply link them and get a lot of resources from another planet. This type of resource management will help you in the long run. Here is how to establish a cargo link in Starfield.

Before you can create a cargo link in Starfield, you need to have at least two outposts built. This will allow you to transfer your resources between them. If you don’t have two, the cargo link won’t appear.

To create a cargo link in Starfield, start by going to your outpost. Once there, interact with your outpost and access the build menu. The cargo link can be found under the miscellaneous section of the build menu.

The following materials are required to craft a cargo link:

  • Two Zero Wire
  • Two Beryllium
  • 12 Aluminum
  • 20 Iron

Once built, there should automatically be another link set up at the other outpost providing you only have one other. If not, more will need to be built.

The cargo link has two storage containers on it; a red container and a green container. The red container is used for outgoing and the green container is used for incoming resources. A console near the containers will also let you view all of your available cargo links as well as anything related to supply missions.

After a link has been established, a cargo ship will occasionally come and transport the outgoing items to the linked outpost and bring in any resources coming from the linked outpost. It makes the entire process a breeze. You can even switch links to different locations using the terminal.
