When you come across a habitable planet, the best thing for you to do is set up shop and start mining for resources. Or perhaps you need someone to take a leadership role when you are not there. How to assign crew to a Ship in Starfield
In Starfield, you can amass quite a number of crew members with unique skills. Once you have your new recruits, you must assign them a job. To assign crew members to a Ship, go into your main menu. Once in the main menu, select Ship and press the Y button on Xbox to select Crew.
Once here, you will be shown a list of companions and their current assignments. Here, you will also be shown your crewmate’s skills. Next, navigate to the crew member you want to assign to the ship, press the A button to assign, and once again confirm your selection.
How to assign crew to an Outpost in Starfield
To assign crew to an Outpost, you must settle on one of the planets available for an Outpost. Once on a planet, use your scanner to place an Outpost Beacon. After this, you must build a Crew Station. You need 2x Iron, 3x Nickel, and 5x Aluminum to build a Crew Station. After you build your Crew Station, go to your Data Menu and select the Ship Menu.
After this, select the Crew button and assign the member to an available Outpost. Additionally, once you upgrade the Outpost Management Skill, you can build more Crew Stations at your Outposts. When assigning crew, it’s best to note their abilities and where to place the best.
