Want to learn more about the companions in Starfield and their abilities? Across the various factions, you will meet various individuals with unique skills, traits, or expertise. As you progress through the storyline, you will need assistance in terms of combat, piloting, or scientists to help you uncover the secrets of the artifacts you find.
Whether it is on a mission or simply hanging around your spaceship, you will never be lonely thanks to the many allies found throughout Starfield. Like other Bethesda titles, these allies will aid you on your journey and help you uncover the secrets of the cosmos. It especially helps if the game seems to be too difficult for you.
Are you ready to explore the many planets in the universe? Do you want to see everything the cosmos has to offer? Don’t bother going alone. Bring one of the many companions you have access to. Here are all the companions in Starfield and the abilities they possess.
Starfield companions and their abilities
You can choose 20 companions in Starfield and recruit them to join your crew. However, four of the members you can recruit as a companion will be from Constellation. Additionally, you can also hire some generic crewmembers to assist you and the other members of Constellation.

Throughout the course of your gameplay, you will meet various crew members. Some will worship you like a hero, and others will give off a space cowboy aura.
The choice is yours if you want to bring along another adventurer or to join you on your journey across the cosmos. There are even a few companions that you can romance along the way. Most companions from the beginning of the game will be from Constellation – the faction in New Atlantis on the planet Jemison.
Other companions you can unlock are from different planets, cities, or outposts like Alpha Centauri, Euphorika, Neon, Cydonia, Vectera, Akila City, and the Astral Lounge. Be sure to search every star system even those unknown to find these companions. You may even make unlikely allies with the Freestar Collective or the Crimson Fleet.
Some companions even have great backstories like Sarah who is an ex-soldier.
