Setting up an outpost is an important part of your journey through the galaxy in Starfield. Making sure you have the best outpost can get you tons of resources and other things you need.

While you will need to store those resources, having them makes all the difference. The best outpost in Starfield allows you to gather plenty of them, as well as keep close to many other space stations for easing docking.

What is the best planet for an outpost in Starfield? We’re here to let you know which planet you should choose, and why it’s the best available.

What is the best planet for outpost in Starfield?

The best planet for an outpost location is Nesoi in the Olympus Star System. There are several reasons Nesoi is the best planet, from its resources available to its location. Take your time with this decision because you might be investing hefty resources into building an output on the planet you chose, play some music on your headphones, and observe many planets before picking.

Nesoi has plenty of resources you’re going to need, from common finds to rare elements. It’s plentiful in:

  • Iron
  • Uranium
  • Argon
  • Irioum
  • Benzene
  • Carboxylic Acids

These materials will be incredibly useful for crafting, and they’re abundant on Nesoi. You can also find Aluminum on Aranae, which is in the same system.

Another reason Nesoi is great is the atmosphere. Other planets can have extreme temperatures, corrosive atmospheres, extreme pressure, extreme gravity, and other issues, but Nesoi in the Olympus System has a moderate climate and there are no extreme conditions to survive, other than some chilliness on the mountain ranges.

The best outpost location may not have any moons, and only moderate flora and fauna, but it is relatively close to many space stations. You won’t have to travel far to get somewhere else. Nesoi can be found in the Olympus Star System, just to the east of the Alpha Centauri System.

What are other good outposts in Starfield?

There are other planets that make great outposts, including Andraphon, which is rich in Beryllium, Europium, and Helium-3. Andraphon is a moon of the planet Sumati that’s found in the Narion System. If you decide you don’t want to set up on Nesoi, Andraphon is another great spot.

How to find a good planet for an outpost in Starfield

When trying to find a good planet for an outpost in Starfield, you want to make sure that it is rich in minerals. There are plenty that you will need to gather:

  • Titanium
  • Fluorine
  • Chlorine
  • Iron (Fe)
  • Aluminum (Al)
  • Tantalum
  • Ytterbium
  • Vanadium
  • Nickel (Ni)
  • Lead (Pb)
  • Copper
  • Cobalt

You will want to find a planet with a breathable atmosphere if possible but this is not necessary. Mostly, you want to locate planets that have large amounts of resources as well as a hospitable environment without harsh climates. Earth makes an okay location but isn’t the greatest. After landing and starting your outpost, make sure to build extractors to collect the minerals.

Remember, you can establish a cargo link between your outposts so that you can transfer materials from one to another. This is a useful tool for when you are dealing with multiple outposts across the universe.
