Do you want to get credits fast in Starfield? The primary currency of this Bethesda Games Studio title isn’t very hard to come by but it can be difficult to get a large amount of it. If you want to go on a spending spree, buying up all the weapons and armor from vendors, you will need a lot of credits.

Different planets in the galaxy have different prices. If you want resources, you will need to work for them. The NPCs get to name their prices and you need to abide by them unless you want to be like a pirate and steal everything.

Join the different factions to get some bonus loot. Be sure to explore every planet that you find and complete every mission. There’s a lot to choose from and you can’t rely on console commands for everything. Here is how you can get money fast in Starfield – the best credit farming methods.

How to get credits in Starfield

Credits aren’t very hard to come by in Starfield. They can be obtained in the following ways:

All of these methods make for great ways to earn credits. Early in the game, the most likely way you will earn credits is by selling your excess items like weapons, spacesuits, helmets, ammo, and resources that you don’t need.

Completing missions will get you rewards that typically come with some bonus credits. This is similar to other RPGs as you are typically rewarded for your efforts. It doesn’t matter if you are operating for Constellation or the Crimson Fleet, you will get credits for each mission you complete.

Pickpocketing NPCs and using Digipicks to break into containers and homes is another way to obtain items worth selling for credits. Any items that you find in an NPC’s storage containers can be sold. It is best to sell stolen items and contraband to Trade Authority vendors.

Smuggling contraband is a great way to get credits but requires you to purchase a shielded cargo bay to avoid contraband scans.

There is also a glitch in Starfield that allows you to raid vendor inventories. So vendors in New Atlantis, Neon, Akila City, and more should beware. This is also a way that you can get better gear.

If you are on PC, you can also use console commands to earn yourself a massive income through cheats. keep in mind, that this will disable all of your achievements if you decide to take this route.

Best ways to farm credits in Starfield

If you want to get lots of money in Starfield, here are some tips for farming credits:

  • Unlock and upgrade the commerce skill
  • Upgrade the scavenging skill
  • Build and maintain your outposts

By far the best way to get credits in a (mostly) passive way is to build and maintain outposts with lots of resources. You can collect resources from outposts built on planets with lots of materials. Place crew members and companions on said outposts.

After a while, you can go and collect your resources, bring them to a vendor, and sell them for a lot of money. It helps to have the commerce skill upgraded as this will get you more money each time you sell your resources.
