There’s already plenty of hype surrounding the latest title in the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty Modern Warfare III. There’s tons of new content for fans of the franchise to get excited about that will be coming in the next CoD game.

The return of Zombies mode, special editions to order like the Vault Edition, and plenty more are going to be coming. Because gamers want in on the action as soon as they can, a beta is a perfect place for fans to get a first look at the gameplay. A beta will allow gamers to test out the newest CoD title.

Does MW3 have a beta for fans to play? We go into all the details you want right here.

When is the MW3 beta?

The following dates are when the MW3 Beta will release for various player bases:

  • Saturday, October 6 for Early Access for PlayStation
  • Sunday, October 8 for Open Beta on PlayStation
  • Thursday, October 12 for Early Access for Xbox and PC and Open Beta for PlayStation
  • Saturday, October 14 for Open Beta for all platforms

As you can see, Weekend One from October 6 to October 10 will be for PlayStation players only, while Weekend Two taking place from October 12 to October 16 will allow all platforms to play the beta. The second beta weekend will allow PC and Xbox players to join in after PlayStation receives the earliest access.

You’ll be able to jump into the open beta starting that morning. Let’s break it down by region to see when the MW3 beta will kick off for players.

Modern Warfare 3 Beta Start Time – North America US

North America can jump into the MW3 beta starting at:

  • Pacific Time Zone (PDT): 10am on October 6
  • Mountain Time Zone (MDT): 11am on October 6
  • Central Time Zone (CDT): 12pm on October 6
  • Eastern Time Zone (EDT): 1pm on October 6

Modern Warfare 3 Beta Start Time – Europe and the UK

The UK and the rest of Europe can join in the MW3 beta at:

  • Coordinated Universal Time (UTC): 5pm on October 6
  • British Summer Time (BST): 6pm on October 6
  • Central European Time (CET): 7pm on October 6

Modern Warfare 3 Beta Start Time – South America

The beta will start for fans in South America starting at:

  •  Brasilia Time (BRT): 2pm on October 6

Modern Warfare 3 Beta Start Time – Asia

Gamers in Asia can begin the MW3 beta at the following times:

  • Japan Standard Time (JST): 2am on October 7
  • Korean Standard Time (KST): 2am on October 7

Modern Warfare 3 Beta Start Time – Australia and New Zealand

Last but certainly not least, the MW3 beta will begin for players in Australia and New Zealand at:

  • Australian Eastern Time (AET) – 3am on October 7
  • New Zealand Standard Time (NZST) – 5am on October 7

How to join the MW3 beta

To access the beta test, you need to preorder Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S / Xbox One, Battle.net or Steam from a participating retailer, PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Store, Battle.net or Steam Store. Pre-orders will include a 13-character early access Beta code redeemable on the Call of Duty website. Preorders already began this August, so you can preorder now.

After you put your account information in and be able to join when it starts.

While a PlayStation Plus subscription is not required to take part in the beta on PlayStation, an Xbox Live Core subscription may be required for the days of early access for Xbox. However, it is not required once it becomes an open beta.

When will I get the MW3 Beta token?

Your tokens will be sent shortly before your Beta begins. A specific time will be announced later before the launch date.

Upon completing your Call of Duty account, Activision will send you your Early Access Beta Token to your registered email address. Please double-check your email address and ensure it is updated in the Call of Duty system so you can receive updates on the Beta. Make changes to your registered email address by logging into your Call of Duty profile and double-checking it.

Does MW3 Have A Beta?

Yes, MW3 will have an open beta for you to join. This will give you the chance to play the new MW3 for yourself before the official launch and get a taste of what the new title has to offer. Because it’s an open beta, all players are welcome to join in.

As shown in the gameplay reveal trailer for MW3, if you preorder the special Vault Edition of the game, you will be rewarded with the perk of getting early access to the open beta, campaign early access, and more pre-order bonuses. Early access will allow you to play with a smaller base of players and be able to see the game before anyone else.

The open beta will give players the first look at multiplayer mode for the direct sequel in the Modern Warfare series, including a variety of maps, game modes, and weapons. While you won’t yet get to play the new campaign or open combat missions until the full release in November, the beta details shown are sure to keep players satiated.
