The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Graphics compared to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
As you can tell from the video above, there are some notable differences between Tears of the Kingdom and its predecessor, Breath of the Wild. While the games use the same hardware, the newer title doesn’t have the limitations of the Wii U.
The first Zelda game on the Nintendo Switch couldn’t use the full power of the system thanks to being a bridge between the new system and the Wii U. Without the Wii U holding the game back, TotK can show more of the details and natural beauty of Hyrule.
It is obvious that Tears of the Kingdom has more detail when you look at the close-up images of the water and the mountains. Those who have seen comparison images of the same known locations will also realize that more trees have been added as well as additional mountain details. Not to mention, you will see great detail in what appear to be dungeons.
Is Tears of the Kingdom bigger than Breath of the Wild?
The new game is far bigger than its predecessor. Tears of the Kingdom has a much larger file size when compared to BotW. Not only will the story be larger, but the map is more detailed and contains more interactable environments such as sky islands.
Link will also have new abilities in Tears of the Kingdom to help him traverse the world. You will contend with new monsters, additional puzzles, and amazing powers such as the Fuse ability which can be used to craft new weapons and create amazing structures like a hot air balloon. If only there were a demo to try out before release.
