In what is the world’s fastest RTX 4090 to date, ASUS reveal their ROG Matrix rendition of the GeForce card during Computex 2023, which is happening in Taipei this year. We already saw the Nvidia keynote, but it’s ASUS that brings us an update to the flagship RTX 4090 graphics card.

Aside from looking the part, this limited edition ROG Matrix RTX 4090 features liquid cooling and the attached AIO cooler provides cool performance. This card is perfect for enthusiasts that want to overclock and tinker with the best GPU on the market, all while keeping the temperature beneath the 60°C target at 450W TGP.

ASUS say that their ROG Matrix RTX 4090 is currently the fastest 4090 on the market, as of it’s announcement. It provides the best boost GPU clocks we’ve ever seen from the Nvidia flagship. One of the standout features you’ll notice immediately on the card itself is the lack of fans. That’s because the card is liquid cooled with a custom coldplate which sits over the GPU, it’s memory, and VRM to ensure no damage in the unlikely event of spillage. The card has liquid metal on the die, which is what we’ve already been seeing in their range of gaming laptops – though it’s a first for a dedicated GPU like this.

There are additional features included on the card too. Including multiple sensors to provide temperatures of every key component in this RTX 4090. ASUS say this is compatible with a new feature on their GPU Tweak III software called the ‘thermal map’, measuring temps in real time. It can also detect if your cable is in need of reseating. Finally, a ‘mileage’ feature is included, which shows you exactly how much you’ve used your graphics card, as part of the software.

You can check out the official reveal below. This limited edition card is due for release in Q3 2023.

All in the name of keeping the card cool is the attached AIO cooler. The all-in-one cooling solution features a chunky 360mm radiator and three ASUS ROG MF-12S ARGB fans for maximum cooling. These also aim to be as silent as possible, as the card also features a Dual Bios switch between ultimate Performance or Quiet settings to configure the intensity.

The cable management is also improved, as a magnetic connector is utilized to snap the three fans together, requiring a single cable to power all three. As such, this cable which is required to feed power to the fans is hidden within one of the cooling tubes, according to ASUS.
