The next entry in the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has been generating hype for months now as fans eagerly await the next installment. This includes speculation on cover art, which seemingly has been confirmed by Activision themselves through a cryptic Twitter post.

A tweet containing a photo of an empty box of energy drinks appears to have the official CoD: MWIII art on it as an advertisement. Fans immediately took notice of the post, and Activision themselves might have confirmed it with a tweet of their own.

Any information on the next Call of Duty game is good news for fans, especially something as big as cover art. We’ll go into more detail about the art and the tweets below.

A strange tweet from Activation may have confirmed Modern Warfare 3’s cover art

The tweet of the alleged cover art comes from CharlieIntel, who posted this photo to Twitter, from @algebra_sloth.

Gaining over 200 likes and over 40 replies, the photo shows what could be the official cover art for Modern Warfare III, containing the logo and a solder standing ready in a red glow.

While this could be nothing, the official Call of Duty Twitter themselves made a mysterious tweet just hours later, asking if anyone had an energy drink for them. While nothing is set in stone, and no official announcement from Activision has been made, this puzzling tweet could be referencing the leak of the official art on the energy drink box.

Fans were quick to make the connection, and many believe it’s confirmation that this is the official art.

There’s still plenty of time to go before the official release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, veterans of the series are eager to get any information they can about the next installment to one of the biggest FPS series of all time.
