Another Fortnite refund is being processed by Epic Games. Unlike many other refunds, this has nothing to do with Fortnite’s Item Shop. Instead, it affects another purchase from the Epic Games Store, which was oddly connected to the popular battle royale game.
Earlier this week, some Fortnite players figured out a trick to get an OG skin. The skin is no longer available in the video game, but it was possible to obtain it for $20. Unfortunately for players, Epic caught up with this, fixing the exploit and refunding players.
Here is everything you need to know about the latest Fortnite refund.
You will receive a Fortnite refund if you used an exploit
The latest exploit allowed players to purchase a $20 game on the Epic Games Store and receive a Fortnite skin. The skin is Rogue Agent, which was released with the first-ever starter pack. Rogue Agent was available for a few months but hasn’t been out for nearly five years.
Many players wanted to obtain the OG skin, which is why they didn’t mind spending $20 on it. However, Epic Games fixed the exploit after a few hours and decided to refund players. Besides the refund, the Fortnite developer also removed the skin from the accounts that used the exploit.
If you’ve used the exploit to get the Fortnite OG skin, you will receive a $20 refund. However, this may not be good news. Considering that the skin was obtained through unusual methods, Epic Games may also ban your account.
At the moment, the company is on summer break, but it will be interesting to see what happens when the break is over. Epic will return to offices on Monday, July 17, and that is when the next Fortnite ban wave might begin.
As always, it’s important to note that you are not allowed to use exploits in the game in any way. Repeated offenses can lead to a lifetime ban, and you could lose all of your progress and cosmetic items.
