Epic Games has banned numerous Fortnite accounts in the past. The video game developer has a zero-tolerance cheating policy, which is why some accounts have been banned permanently. However, the latest ban wave is very unusual, and no one knows what’s going on.

On Wednesday, Epic banned several accounts for seemingly no good reason. These accounts can no longer log in, yet the reason hasn’t been specified. To make things worse, these accounts are marked as inactive, which is certainly a reason for concern.

Here’s everything you need to know about the latest Fortnite ban wave.

Latest Fortnite ban has severe consequences for some players

Several Fortnite players reported issues with their accounts on Wednesday night. One of these players is GMatrixGames, a popular leaker and data miner. The Fortnite player had his account banned but doesn’t even know why. The account was working properly earlier in the yet, yet it’s no longer available.

The account is marked as inactive, which is very strange. Furthermore, GMatrixGames has a Support-A-Creator code, which was also deactivated. Not only did the player lose account access, but he also missed out on money he could have made with the supporter code.

The same thing happened to NotJulesDev, another popular data miner.

There is a chance that many other players have been banned and that this is a glitch. However, Epic Games hasn’t addressed the Fortnite ban wave, which is why no one knows what’s going on. It’s been more than 12 hours since the first ban, and players are hoping to get their accounts back soon.

While it’s hard to say what exactly has triggered these bans, Epic may have banned certain leakers who uncovered sensitive data. It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds, but these players will likely get their accounts back soon.
