Epic Games recently held a Galaxy Cup in Fortnite Battle Royale. The cup was held on both Saturday and Sunday, but the first day was open to only Android players. Unfortunately, the tournament did not end without controversy.
A player who won the cup in Brazil was a cheater. They used aimbot to take enemies down without any effort, which helped them get at least 20 eliminations in every single game. Considering how popular the tournament was, this cheating ruined the experience for at least thousands of players.

Fortnite cheater won the Galaxy Cup
Cheating in Fortnite isn’t exactly hard, but getting away with it is very difficult. Many players have cheated, but not many of them have managed to avoid the ban. In certain cases, Epic Games even sued cheaters or gave them a lifetime ban.
The Galaxy Cup was held over the weekend and it allowed players to win the Galaxy Crossfade skin for free. While the skin will be available in the Item Shop at a later date, many players attended the tournament hoping to get it for free.
Unfortunately, some players ran into cheaters. The winner of the Galaxy Cup in Brazil achieved the top spot by cheating, which you can see in the video below.
The good news is that Epic Games banned the player and removed them from the leaderboard. While this was certainly the right thing to do, it’s very unfortunate that the player ruined a chance for many others to unlock the free skin.
Unsurprisingly, the Fortnite community is shocked. Fortunately, this type of cheating doesn’t too often as Epic bans cheaters relatively quickly, sometimes even during the match. However, many players agree that the video game developer should start banning hardware and IP addresses, not just accounts.
