Epic Games released another massive Fortnite update on Tuesday. This is the last major update of Chapter 4 – Season 3, so it’s no surprise that it brought a lot of new content. Besides a collaboration with Jujutsu Kaisen, Epic also added several gameplay changes, including another nerf.
Mammoth Pistol is a powerful weapon that was added to the popular video game earlier in the season. The pistol was added with the v25.20 update, and many players used it to take their opponents down easily. However, the weapon was nerfed with the latest update.
This article will reveal everything you need to know about the Fortnite nerf, including its new stats.
Mammoth Pistol is no longer as powerful as it used to be
Mammoth Pistol is a strong weapon that can be deadly in the right hands. It only has one bullet in its magazine, but the damage the bullet does is much bigger than the damage of other weapons. Before the nerf, it was possible to deal just under 200 damage by choosing the right Reality Augments.
The latest Fortnite nerf reduced the damage of the weapon at long distances, as well as headshot damage. While Epic Games claims that these stats were slightly reduced, the actual difference in damage is quite big.
Before the nerf, the Common (Gray) variant of Mammoth Pistol used to deal 85.44 damage, but it was reduced to 75.65 damage with the nerf. The Legendary (Gold) variant dealt up to 97.92 damage, but it can no longer deal more than 86.7 damage.
Damage of the weapon was nerfed by approximately 11% across the board, and the Legendary version of it is now just slightly stronger than the Common version before the nerf. To make things worse, the headshot multiplier was reduced from 1.85 to 1.75.
To put this into perspective, it was possible to deal approximately 182 damage for a headshot with the Legendary variant before the nerf. Now, the damage was lowered all the way to 152, or a 16% reduction. Fortunately, the Fortnite weapon still benefits from the Heavy Headshots Reality Augment.
