Epic Games recently released the Fortnite x The Elder Scrolls Online collaboration. The collab has brought a lot of fantastic stuff, including Fortnite cosmetic items and the MMORPG game coming for free on the Epic Games Store.
Thanks to the collaboration, Fortnite players are able to obtain the Sigil of the Alliance War back bling for free. For a limited time, it was also possible to receive 300 V-Bucks from the collaboration, but that was a glitch that Epic Games fixed rather quickly.
Thousands of players received these V-Bucks, but Epic ended up removing them from their accounts.
Your Fortnite V-Bucks were removed because of a glitch
When Epic Games released The Elder Scrolls Online for free, it was possible to receive free V-Bucks with it. For some reason, players were able to obtain the game twice from the Epic Games Store. Due to this, the second purchase was automatically refunded and converted into V-Bucks.
Epic needed only around 20 minutes to fix the storefront glitch. In addition to it, the video game developer removed 300 V-Bucks from every account that used the glitch to obtain them. It’s important to note that Epic Games did not remove any purchased V-Bucks, only those obtained through the glitch.
Interestingly, the V-Bucks removal has resulted in some players having a negative balance on their accounts. Players who had 0 V-Bucks prior to using the glitch now have -300 V-Bucks. Due to this, once they purchase a pack of 1,000 V-Bucks, they will only be left with 700 of them.
If the premium currency was removed from your account, you will receive an in-game popup saying that your latest transaction was refunded.
