Epic Games hasn’t released a lot of Fortnite content over the past two weeks. The company was on summer break, which caused a content drought. Fortunately, this will soon come to an end as the game developer is preparing another Fortnite update scheduled for July 25.
In the meantime, Epic released another weapon balance change. These changes are meant to make the video game fair for everyone and reduce the effectiveness of certain weapons. This time, the game developer nerfed the Explosive Repeater Rifle, one of the newest weapons in Chapter 4 – Season 3.
Considering that this is a fan-favorite weapon, many players won’t be too happy about the nerf.
The Explosive Repeater Rifle is now much weaker against structures in Fortnite
Epic Games released the Explosive Repeater Rifle with the first major update of Chapter 4 – Season 3. Even though the weapon was featured in the trailer for the season, it didn’t come out right away. However, shortly after it did, many players complained about it being overpowered.
What makes the weapon overpowered is its ability to deal damage without a direct hit. In addition to this, the Explosive Repeater Rifle was decent against structures as well, but this is no longer the case. The latest nerf reduced its damage against structured by 40% across all rarities.
The weapon comes in six different rarities, and all of them have been nerfed. Here are the detailed changes regarding the structural damage of the Fortnite weapon:
- Common: 40 -> 24
- Uncommon: 42 -> 25
- Rare: 44 -> 26
- Epic: 46 -> 27
- Legendary: 48 -> 28
- Mythic: 51 -> 29
The v25.20 Fortnite update is scheduled to come out on Tuesday, July 25, and will likely bring even more balance changes. Besides this, the update will bring new skins and possibly a new weapon. Considering that the season is ending in five weeks, we might get some live event info as well.
