Now that's an overclock

Now when it comes to getting the most out of your PC build, overclocking is the way forward and pushing your hardware to its silicon limits. And at Computex 2023, GSkill is certainly pushing the limits of its hardware as it pushes RAM to 10GHz, with the CPU reaching 7GHz clock speeds.
The build features the ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex motherboard, along with an Intel Core i9-13900K, and the Trident Z5 RGB DDR5-8000. So as you can expect both of the crucial components were overclocked significantly. With the CPU increasing by 1.2GHz and the DDR5 memory up 2GHz. Although it was limited to single-channel memory to keep the frequency at the highest.
Now to reach that potential, you need some serious cooling. As by running it with more power, more heat is generated and the components start to get overheated and throttle down to protect them. As such the ultimate form of cooling is required, liquid nitrogen.
Utilized for extreme overclocks, it is normally gaseous but under pressure, it turns to liquid. And so as it evaporates it transfers a lot of heat away, but the liquid is not good for electronics. So it can’t be run for long periods with the condensation possibly ruining the components by shorting them out.
GDM also had a look at these as well, with a close-up of the overclock shown on CPU-Z. Reaching those high clocks requires a lot of power and good silicon. But it’s unlikely to be of much use for the general population but rather beating records and getting good promotions. Especially for its fast air-cooled RAM and which is utilized in common builds.
