Recently, Grand Theft Auto 5 was removed from the Xbox Game Pass, meaning that subscribers will no longer be able to enjoy the game for free. However, those looking to get their car and violence based mayhem fix will be happy to know that GTA 5 will be free on the Epic Games Store to keep as of today – but only for a limited time.
GTA V Rumors
The rumblings about GTA 5 for free on the Epic store began a few days ago, when after its removal from the Xbox Game pass sparked debate over where the next best place was to get GTA for a lower – or no price at all. Insiders on Reddit then claimed to have knowledge that at some point soon (i.e, today), GTA 5 would be made available to download and keep for free from the Epic Games Store for all of its users – a rumor that was only confirmed when earlier today a tweet from the official Epic Games Store Twitter account posted ‘Get Grand Theft Auto V free on PC until May 21. Yours to keep forever on the Epic Games Store.’
Basically, it looks like a mistimed social media post finally blew the whistle on something that everyone seemed to know already – and now, we know for sure that gamers are going to be able to pick up GTA 5 for free for the next few days from the Epic Games Store.
Epic Games Leaks
The folks at Epic games can’t be any strangers to leaks at this stage. Just the other day their unveiling of Unreal Engine 5 was tipped online, and recently there have been more and more rumblings about new games joining the service – including the Witcher 3, thanks to a recent screenshot leak of the Epic Games Store page, which has yet to be explained.
