If you’re looking for a new game to play, then figuring out if you can run it is the first step for many, so we bring you the Helldivers 2 system requirements for PC. Helldivers 2 has now been released and developers Arrowhead provide us with a third-person shooter sequel to the original twin-stick shooter, giving us a whole new perspective to play with. Luckily, the required specs don’t look all-so demanding according to the official Steam store page. Regardless, picking up the best CPU for Helldivers 2 or best monitor for Helldivers 2 isn’t a bad shout.

To help you jump into Helldivers 2 without any worries, we can explain both the minimum and recommended system requirements to compare your gaming PC against. No matter if you’re worried about your GPU, CPU, or whatever else. Considering the original came out close to a decade prior, it’s not a surprise to see quite the jump in requirements for the sequel.

Helldivers 2 minimum system requirements

  • Operating System (OS): Windows 10
  • Processor (CPU): Intel Core i7-4790K or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
  • Graphics card (GPU): NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 470
  • Memory (RAM): 8GB RAM
  • Storage: 100 GB available space

Kicking things off with the minimum system requirements and you’ll find some hardware here which is generations old, such as the GTX 1050 Ti. Most people should be able to handle these specs on an even relatively modern system. Perhaps one of the biggest issues for some people is the large 100GB space requirement.

  • Operating System (OS): Windows 10
  • Processor (CPU): Intel Core i7-9700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • Graphics card (GPU): NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT
  • Memory (RAM): 16GB RAM
  • Storage: 100 GB available space, SSD recommended

For the recommend system requirements we still get to see some older hardware, but these are much more up to date and reflect what many players are using these days if your PC is a few years old. The RTX 2060 and Ryzen 7 3700X remain a decent partnership for a budget build these days, though newer generations are widely available and preferable, while the RX 6600 XT is a popular entry-level option. Another thing to consider is that an SSD is recommended to help the game run smoothly and speed up loading times.

Can I run Helldivers 2 on PC?

Take a look at the minimum system requirements above if you’re concerned about whether you’re able to the run Helldivers 2 or not. As we can see, you can be running on some pretty old hardware such as a mid-range GeForce 10 series GPU or first-gen Ryzen processor. Any gaming PC using components from even over five years ago can be more than enough for Helldivers 2.

If you want much smoother performance though, then you want to be aiming for the recommended specs, which jumps around a couple of generations back. For example, the RTX 2060 and Ryzen 7 3700X are a few years old at this point but still good enough performers for this not-so demanding title. So, mid-range SKUs from these generations or even lower-mid range picks from the generations that come after offer enough power.

Is Helldivers 2 hard to run?

In terms of how hard Helldivers 2 is to run in the grand scheme of things, it isn’t too bad. For a game released in 2024, it is pretty easy to run compared to some AAA titles we’ve seen in the past couple of years.

We’ve found that some users are reporting crashes or poor performance during the initial launch period, but this is something that should be fixed over time as the game gets more optimized through dev support.
