With the release of Horizon Forbidden West cinematic trailer as well as some longer gameplay footage, we can start to get more excited about the game’s official release. As a reminder, the game is scheduled to release on February 18, 2022, on PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 consoles.
Horizon Zero Dawn had a masterfully designed world with a lot of interesting side quests, somewhat repetitive but fun side activities like hunt challenges, collectible flowers and more. In addition to that, the phenomenal photo mode allowed players to create wallpapers out of this world. I was rocking Horizon Zero Dawn screenshot as a wallpaper for over 2 years myself.
Horizon Forbidden West Coming in a Week
With all that hype train starting, I found myself wanting to refresh my memory and actually finish the first game in the series, that being Horizon: Zero Dawn. I did just that, and it is an amazing experience, the game did not age at all. I was even able to reach level 60 and do almost most of the achievements in about a week or so.
The world created is just amazing, and it is worth re-visiting before the sequel launchers next week. However, it is not necessary, but I would recommend at least getting familiar with the story of Aloy—our main protagonist of the game voiced by Ashly Burch—and the story from the first game. You can watch some story recaps by IGN Games or PlayStationGrenade.
Vibrant landscapes and creatively designed machines are something not seen before in any entertainment medium, and I personally cannot wait to play Horizon Forbidden West on PS5 in all of its glory. Stay tuned for my thoughts on the game after it launches.
