Now there are plenty of all-in-one graphics cards to choose from, but LYNK+ has shown off a modular liquid cooler for your GPU. In a video from der8auer, we get an insight into how this new cooling system is meant to work, as it is introduced by the new German manufacturer.

Although it was initially only tested on the RX 7900 XTX and RTX 3080, it is planning to bring the options to plenty of other models so you can get it no matter what you’re running. Especially since you’ll be able to swap out the cooling plate down the line with the mentioned modularity.

The LYNK+ cooler uses a large aluminum die-cast block that has a cooling block. Which would make it a lower cost than any CNC-milled options instead. The modularity also means adding in more radiators and units to accommodate the bigger power draw of newer GPUs. And allowing these radiators will be available in 240 and 360mm sizing.

With such large CNC-milled channels for the actual GPU cooling, you get effective cooling solutions. Especially across the whole board with the likes of the VRMs and not just the die itself. Although you will miss out on being able to see the liquid flowing through your cooler since it is all one metal cooler unlike the see-through blocks currently.

It does also differ from the pump integrated into the radiator rather than the block. This does mean it is easier to upgrade down the line as the cooler slots in easily to the block itself to provide the liquid. The demonstration in the video uses an RX 7900 XTX with a 360mm radiator, and during it, the card only reached 50°C while running Furmark, with the junction temps reaching 75°C.
