MSI’s New MEG, MPG, And MAG Motherboards Leaked

With a few leaks circling around today, it looks like MSI’s up and coming motherboards have been leaked too. Details of three motherboard series and several models from MSI have been leaked.

All Of The Leaked MSI Motherboards

The leak listed a bunch of different model names including:

  • MEG Z490 GODLIKE
  • MEG Z490 ACE
  • MEG Z490 UNIFY
  • MEG Z490 I UNIFY
  • MPG Z490 GAMING CARBON WIFI
  • MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE WIFI
  • MPG Z490M GAMING EDGE WIFI
  • MPG Z490 GAMING PLUS
  • MPG Z490-A PRO
  • MAG TOMAHAWK

MEG Series

The first up is the MEG series which usually features ACE and GODLIKE motherboards. This series is designed primarily for enthusiasts who have the cash to splash on a motherboard.

Interestingly, it looks like these new Z490 motherboards will only be likely to support two generations of Intel CPUs – the Comet Lake-S and Rocket Lake-S series. This is because this motherboard features an LGA1200 socket.

However, Intel processors far off into the future, for example, Alder Lake-S is already rumored to be moving away from this kind of socket and will feature an LGA1700 socket instead.

Could this mean that this motherboard, while a great choice now, might be outdated before we even know it? Of course, as this is a leak we can’t be 100% sure but it’s something worth bearing in mind if you’re eyeing up MSI’s new Z490 motherboards.

MPG series

Also in this leak was the MPG Z490M Gaming Edge, MPG Z490 Gaming Plus and the Z490-A PRO.

The MPG range of motherboards is more of a mid-range series in the MSI lineup. For example, the Z490-A PRO is considered a basic model and is likely to be the cheapest model in MSI’s range.

MAG Series

Details of the Tomahawk haven’t been leaked yet (besides the name) so we don’t know what to expect with this one. However, we’re likely to hear something soon and when we do we will be sure to keep you updated.
