Noctua have been a little under the radar for some time, but the premium cooler & fan manufacturer has shown up at Computex this year. New CPU coolers for the next-gen AMD Threadripper CPUs are on their way, slated for October 2023 according to information straight from their booth. With the latest Threadripper processors yet to arrive, these fans could be released in tandem with the powerful workstation CPUs.
There are a bunch of key points to talk about when it comes to these Noctua Threadripper CPU coolers for AMD’s 7000 series. Thankfully, Noctua have gone into detail for these upcoming coolers, which will no doubt provide the kind of quality you expect from Noctua to help cool down these monster CPUs with minimal noise.
Noctua next gen AMD Threadripper CPU coolers specs & design
Details are now official, with some exciting news arriving straight from the Noctua booth at Computex. They announced their arrival on Twitter, and we can see why they were excited to show off some news. These new coolers for the next-gen Threadripper CPUs are based on the award-winning NH-U14S TR4-SP3 and NH-D9 DX-4677 4U coolers for optimal performance, excellent build quality, and low-noise.
In order to cater for the upcoming Threadripper processors from AMD, these Noctua coolers require a large 70x56mm contact surface. This ensures the CPU is being fully covered and cooled appropriately.
Like the NH-D9 DX-4677 4U we mentioned, the unveiled fans feature a dual fan configuration. As you would expect, this is all about controlling the power Threadripper CPUs – so two fans means minimum performance to manage heavy workloads and high temperatures. Or ‘heatloads’ as Noctua puts it.
Other specs include a pre-applied NT-H2 thermal compound to make life easier for you if you’re worried about applying thermal paste. Finally, Noctua’s trademarked SecuFirm2 mounting system ensures the cooler will be locked into place as securely as possible.
As always, Noctua are sticking with their iconic brown color design, which stands out from the rest of the RGB crowd out there and opts for a more classic approach to the aesthetics.
