With the news of AMD FSR 3 support finally here for Starfield, we thought we’d take a look at some of the best AMD GPUs on the market to find the very best value if you want to enjoy Starfield at 4K. We’ve settled on the 7800 XT as a high-quality option which is a little cheaper than the truly top of the range, and we’ve even spotted some deals in place.

Our best GPU for Starfield page recommends the flagship RX 7900 XTX as a top pick for the very best performance, and the introduction of FSR 3 will only let you boost your framerate higher. However, we think dropping down to a more cost-effective GPU is a good way of making use of the frame generation and upscaling tech without breaking the bank, so we’d suggest the RX 7800 XT or lower. Though, the XTX has seen some discounts lately if you still want the very best from AMD.

RX 7800 XT currently on Amazon for just under $500

Thanks to a large number of RX 7800 XT custom models occupying Amazon and other retailers, you can pick one up for less than $500. The GIGABYTE Radeon RX 7800 XT Gaming OC is a particular model which is retailing for $499.99 at the time of writing, and we see this as a solid upgrade for excellent performance in Starfield, especially with FSR 3 support.

This matches the RX 7800 XT’s MSRP of $499, which we think is a pretty fair price for the GPU given the kind of performance it offers. Below you’ll find some more SKUs which offer good value:

What other AMD GPUs should I get for Starfield?

Again looking back to our best GPU for Starfield page, you’ll find the RX 7600 as the cost-effective entry-level option. These days, we’d probably opt for the newer 7600 XT instead for a little extra power. These cheaper cards won’t enjoy the very best performance in Starfield and they’re generally limited to 1080p resolutions, but the FSR 3 implementation helps them gain a large number of frames or even aim for 1440p with the right settings.

In our RX 7700 XT review, we found the card offers solid 1440p performance and it can be another good option for Starfield. However, it isn’t much cheaper than the 7800 XT at MSRP, so the next step up offers the better value for money in our eyes unless you find a massive discount.
