If you’re looking for one of the best graphics cards currently on the market, then AMD’s current flagship model – the Radeon RX 7900 XTX – is seeing a number of its custom models discounted on popular retailers such as Amazon. Many are currently selling for less than MSRP, which is not something we can say for a card which is comparable in performance, Nvidia’s RTX 4080 Super.
The RX 7900 XTX has been out for just over a year longer than the newer RTX 4080 Super, so it has had some time to sit on the market and enjoy some discounts. We’ve seen a number of SKUs getting discounts for the XTX to drop it closer to $900, whereas the 4080 Super can generally only be found for over the $1,000 mark right now.
Black Friday is back, and with it comes huge savings on some of the market’s most popular gaming and tech products. We’ll be covering all the best deals in more details over in our deals hub, but if you haven’t got time to read through those, why not see our top picks below.
We’ve spotted a number of RX 7900 XTX discounts currently live on Amazon which offer excellent value for money. This card is a top performer for 4K or 1440p gaming, which is perfect if you’re looking to upgrade your system and are interested in an AMD GPU. Starting from the cheapest at the time of writing:
RX 7900 XTX or RTX 4080 Super, which should you buy?
Both of these cards offer similar raw performance, but the RX 7900 XTX comes out on top when looking at benchmarks such as TechPowerUp’s relative performance; the 4080 Super is ever-so slightly behind across the board. However, it does make up for it with DLSS 3.5 and improved raytracing technology which helps it outperform the 7900 XTX for gaming with raytracing on or when boosting FPS with frame generation.
The 7900 XTX does boast a higher 24GB VRAM compared to the Super’s 16GB, which is some extra headroom that helps it perform better for productivity workloads such as rendering or editing, it also makes it a little extra future-proof in this regard. If you’re stuck on which to buy, the 4080 super is best if you want to take full advantage of ray tracing, but the 7900 XTX offers better value for money right now.
