Just as the dust settles on Jedi Survivor and its bad reviews, another launch hasn’t exactly gone well for the PC port. Now Redfall’s release date has brought it the same reception and Redfall has mostly negative reviews, not only on Steam either.

The game is the next release from Arkane, the studio with titles Dishonored, Prey, and Deathlooop under its belt. But that hasn’t meant anything in these past releases as we’ve seen. The game is a single-play or co-op game where the town on an island is cut off by a legion of vampires.

Reasons for bad Redfall reviews

Similar to what Star Wars experienced with its release, Redfall has some potential performance issues, but it seems to be dependent on the hardware you’re running once again. Users have speculated, the fact both games are both made in Unreal Engine 4 and use the DRM Denuvo, that’s what might lead to the bad experience in the game and what might need patching.

There is also a generally bad experience in the game as well. One user complained that they can’t enjoy the game in co-op as that is broken. Especially for a $70 game, you’d want a good finished experience, however now you have to wait for more patches to try and improve the experience.

Another person complains of the bad AI, clunky control, not-too-exciting graphics, and an empty world. So it seems like not worth the money. So you start to wonder why the games are released in this state and asking for so much. And it might be down to pressure from the publishers rather than the developer’s choice and it’s a shame to see and if you’re excited for the game, you then have to wait to enjoy it.
