With the GeForce 40 series widely available on the market for a long while now, the RTX 3080 may have fallen off your radar. However, this popular GPU still deserves to have a light shone on it as you can pick one up for less than $500 right now. That’s if you buy renewed, but we’ve even spotted a brand-new SKU for not too much more.

Considering its successor the RTX 4080 was way too overpriced and the 4080 Super still around the $1,000 mark, the RTX 3080 offers excellent value for money if you’re looking to save big by opting for a last-gen card. Over on Amazon, a refurbished MSI Ventus 3X Plus will set you back just $499, which is $200 under the MSRP of the 10GB model. It could be the best RTX 3080 going off price.

Nvidia’s RTX 3080 is now up to $200 off MSRP

Prices for the RTX 3080 when it first launched were sky-high due to the ongoing GPU shortage, which meant you would almost never find one for the $699 MSRP. Now we’re in a much better spot as GPU prices have settled. The 12GB variant of the RTX 3080 which released in 2022 is still harder to source at a low price, but many of these renewed 10GB cards are much more affordable. We bring you both a renewed and brand-new option if you’re looking for a new GPU for 1440p and 4K gaming right now.

If you’re interested in more options, then there’s a number of renewed models which can save you hundreds of dollars against the brand-new price.

What is a good price for the RTX 3080 right now?

The RTX 3080 remains one of the most popular high-end GPUs according the Steam hardware survey, but how much should you pay for one realistically these days? We think that anything significantly below the MSRP of $699 is a good place to start. If you want to achieve this, opting for the cheaper 10GB version is the best way to do this.

The 12GB model’s MSRP is $100 higher, but the extra memory and other small improvements does help performance marginally. Given we’ve found a brand-new 10GB model for close to $500, this looks to be one of the best prices at the moment. See our RTX 3080 review if you want to see exactly what this card offers you.
