Seasonic shows off new Magflow fans at Computex

Computex is well underway this year, with plenty of announcements and reveals to go around. We’ve spotted something new from Seasonic however which has caught our eye – their Seasonic Magflow fans. The Taiwanese company has been displaying these are their booth at the massive Computex convention, which is happening this week in Taipei.
We suppose you want to hear all about them. People may not see new PC case fans as the most exciting reveal, but there is a twist here which gives them their Magflow branding. Seasonic have shown off a range of products – and if you’ve heard of them before, it’s likely you know about their fantastic range of PSUs. Regardless, it’s the new Magflow fans which impressed us in particular.
Seasonic Magflow fans details
Magflow gets it’s name from the magnetic connection between these case fans. This means they have a daisy chain design, allowing you to easily snap them together and fit into your case with much more ease. This kind of design also improves cable management as there is less messing around with cables in between the fans you install, instead bunching together into a single connection.
The particular product shown off during the event is the 3-fan kit, with both RGB and non-RGB fans being shown off to mix and match, as they all have the same magnetic connection pattern. The key to this is that the magnets are very strong, which is backed up by the tough frame which ensures a stable build quality.
All of this comes at a price though, which is yet to be revealed. However, reports say that more non-magnetic fans from Seasonic are on the way, which will of course be more competitively priced.
What are daisy chain fans?
These Magflow case fans are an example of daisy-chained fans, but what does that mean? Well, as the name would suggest, this is about fans which are attached together. The benefit here is that you’re using the same connection for all of your daisy chain fans, which means multiple fans are controlled with the same fan curve. This makes for cleaner cable management too.
Of course you don’t want to overload this, but Seasonic show off a row of 4 fans together working in tandem. The magnetic design from Seasonic makes it easier to do this, but you can daisy-chain some fans without the need for this magnetic snapping design.
