And we doubt that they got it early

The LG UltraGear 32GS95UE is an OLED gaming monitor, one of LG’s latest models. It’s so new in fact that it isn’t quite out yet, but that hasn’t stopped one Amazon user from leaving a scathing review. A one star review has left a mark on the ratings, but it’s safe to say that we can ignore this ‘fake’ negative review for now.

This OLED monitor looks to be one of the more interesting displays coming out this year, boasting Dual-Hz, a world’s first for gaming monitors. This sets it apart from the rest of the 4K OLEDs we’re seeing in 2024 and offers up to 480Hz at 1080p. The LG UltraGear 32GS95UE release date isn’t until mid-April, but this one disgruntled reviewer has something to say about the matte finish.

Users are review-bombing the LG 32GS95UE

The LG 32GS95UE has already been on listed on Amazon, though it isn’t currently available at the time of writing. It is however ready to pre order on the official LG store, and you’ll find even more of these bad reviews on its product page.

What all of these negative reviews are referencing in particular is the matte coating on the OLED panel, as opposed to a glossy finish which LG have generally been using, including on their latest OLED TVs. While matte does have the advantage of dealing with reflections in a well-lit room, it does have the downside of dulling colors, and as our Amazon reviewer says, it creates a ‘fuzzy’ display.

While most, if not all, of these reviewers have yet to see the monitor in real life, the realization that a matte coating is coming to the 32GS95UE has clearly been a huge downside for many people. Even still, we’d have to agree with this Reddit thread and say that you can’t really write a reputable review without even getting your hands on the product.

When does it come out?

We’re already clued in when it comes to the LG 32GS95UE release date, which is due for mid-April based on the pre order information currently available from the LG store. However, if you’re one of these consumers that is less than impressed by the matte finish, then you’ll probably want to wait it out. If not, see our where to buy LG 32GS95UE page.

The good news is that LG seems have a glossy version in the making for later on in the year according to current rumors. While glossy panels obviously don’t deal with reflections well, it makes for a more crisp image that looks at its best in a dimly-lit room.
