The original Call of Duty: Warzone servers are shutting down. That’s right, Activision has officially made sure that you can no longer go back and play the Caldera map in Warzone 1 if you want to.

We’re not saying shutting down for maintenance, this is a permanent shutdown. Say goodbye while you can by logging in but first find out when the last day is below. You will no longer be able to access Caldera on an official Call of Duty server from Activision.

Call of Duty Warzone 1 is ending

The original Warzone servers will only last until September 21, so If you want to experience Call of Duty for the last time on official servers, you are almost out of time. This was announced by a user known for giving out Call of Duty information, Modern Warzone.

Many players have chosen to stick to the original Warzone and its old map due to how fun it is and how much is still the same old beloved Warzone. The Warzone 2 (now named Warzone) maps have changed so much and some would argue that they aren’t as well designed. Each time a new map comes up, there’s usually a lot of backlash from the community.

We can see this as a bid that Activision is taking to make sure their players stay on the new servers in MW2 instead of sticking to the older ones.

There will likely be unofficial servers popping, much like the old Black Ops servers that fans have put up. However, those have a lot of issues because they are incredibly unsafe for players, and hackers tend to still roam around in them.

There’s also the fact that Activision has shut down many of these unofficial servers, so we don’t imagine they’ll take too kindly to a Warzone 1 server shortly after they took theirs down. We imagine this will be a huge change-up for players and advise at least taking a look at the game before it all ends.
