In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Link has so many abilities he can use. Speed runners have already found so many glitches and cheats that can be exploited within the game (if you’re into that sort of thing), but can you install mods to the game?

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – can you install mods?

Unfortunately, due to the game being released on Nintendo Switch, there is currently no way to download or install mods to this console. Unlike glitches such as the Duplicating glitch that fans have found you can access which depend on in game control, there is no way to access the folder or specific files in the Nintendo Switch that would contain space to put mods into Tears of the Kingdom.

With all the creativity given to Link in his new Fuse ability and the Ultrahand ability, modding this game may not even be necessary. He now has a wealth of ways to be creative, to make items and to make this world of Hyrule your own.

Can you install Mod Emulators for Zelda on PC?

By now it has been around that leaks have gotten hold of Tears of the Kingdom, with emulators taking the game and moving it to PC with emulation tools, this is one of the only ways you would be able to add a mods folder to the game. This is not advisable to use this as this is a cross of intellectual property, not to mention that this game is made to be played handheld on a switch. Any ports from PC are pirated, illegal, and should not be played. Nintendo has a strong view about cracking down on these kinds of emulations.

There is always the option to attach your Switch to its dock to stream the game to your TV or PC if youre wanting a larger screen to play from.

We would love to see things such as a multiplayer mod or even mods for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom but sadly the Nintendo Switch does not support such things and Tears of the Kingdom was made and optimised for play on the Switch only. If you are looking for mods to change up Links aesthetics, or some of the different weapons and gliders he uses then checking out the Amiibos and what they unlock may help you there as each different one gives you fun rewards when scanned onto the Switch.
