Blizzard welcomes you to Hell with their newest release in the Diablo series, Diablo IV. There is an endless amount of content available for play, and fans are hooked.
There are plenty of terrifying monsters and world bosses to fight, and XP and Paragon Points to grind for, along with the quests to complete. Some quests are harder than others, and that includes the Wrack and Ruin quest. While it might be easy for some, it can be difficult to get started with in finding the town of Yngovani.

Diablo 4 Wrack and Ruin quest – where is Yngovani?
The elusive town of Yngovani location is at the center of the Blightmarsh in Hawezar in Sanctuary after you’ve spoken with Timue. The swampy key area is surrounded by water from the marsh, but you can see above the exact area you’ll want to head to above where it’s marked.
The area you need to search will have a big yellow circle surrounding it once you have been informed of the town’s existence, and it can cover a lot of areas. The circle will continue to get smaller as you get closer, but to find it quickly, you’ll want to be directly in the center of the Blightmarsh and then slightly West.
Tips for Wrack and Ruin quest in Diablo 4
Yngovani can be difficult to search for, and is often the most difficult part of the quest, but once you’ve found the town the rest of the quest is pretty straightforward.
The Wrack and Ruin quest will then have you search through all the people in the town to find the temple door with a serpent on it, labeled the Engraved Stone Door. To open it, you will need to collect the serpent’s eyes, of which there are two:
- Right Eye, found east of the temple near the Destroyed Serpent Shrine by flipping over cultist corpses
- Left Eye, found with a dying bandit in the Thieves’ Encampment
Once you’ve grabbed the eyes in the Blightmarsh region from the flesh of cultists and the bandit survivor at the campsite, put them in the temple door and you can open it to find the Serpent’s Lair dungeon and discover the secrets behind its large stone doors. Wrack and Ruin is just one of the many main quests you’ll encounter in your journey through Sanctuary alongside side quests like Salt Begets Salt and The Way of the Three. Once completed, you’ll earn both XP and loot.
Where is the town of Yngovani?
Yngovani can be found at the center of the Blightmarsh region of Hawezar, and slightly to the West. The yellow circle surrounding the area will get smaller as you get close.

The town of Yngovani will contain the large stone temple doors to the Serpent’s Lair dungeon, of which you will need to find the keys to open it. These keys will be a right and left eye.
