If you’ve not heard yet, Elden Ring is an incredibly hard game. Whether you like it or not, you’re going to need every advantage you can get if you plan on beating this thing, and by far one of the most overpowered weapons in the game is the Sword of Night and Flame. This Faith-based weapon is a great tool for anyone who wants to lay waste to hordes of enemies and bosses alike, even if it’s specific to builds with at least 24 faith. This Sword of Night and Flame location guide will show you where the sword is hiding out and how you can get it.

Sword of Night and Flame location

Sword of Night and Flame Location Walkways

You can find the Sword of Night and Flame in Carian Manor in the northwestern section of Liurnia of the Lakes. You can find it by riding onto the western cliffs of the region, then heading north until you hit the Kingsrealm Ruins. Ignore the annoying enemies here and head for the most northern part of the ruins. You can hit the wall at the back of the ruins to reveal a point of grace and a giant blacksmith.

From here, hop on your horse and ride towards the manor in the distance. Make sure you bob and weave around the random magic spears that fly at you from the sky in waves, and activate the manor point of grace when you arrive. Then you’re going to need to work your way through the manor until you find the Manor Lower Level point of grace, which is the starting point for the run to grab the sword.

Actually Getting the Sword

Sword of Night and Flame Location Ladder

From the site of grace, head outside onto the walkway. As you move forward, a few ghostly soldiers will spawn to attack you. They should be pretty easy to take out, but it’s also a viable option to run right past them. Turn left at the crossroad, then right at the next tower, ignoring or killing the soldiers who spawn as you go. On the next bridge, look off of the left side and you should see a building. Take a running jump off the walkway to land on the roof, then look off the side of the roof to find another landing for you to jump down to.

Go down the ladder to find yourself in a ground-floor room. Inside the chest here you’ll find your coveted weapon of flame and dispair. You can also have a shortcut from the courtyard if you open the door behind you as well, but honestly, you’re much better off just warping to the point of grace as there’s not much else for you to discover in this area. Enjoy your new sword.
