Square Enix isn’t known for making many multiplayer games, but the ones they do make are great. Final Fantasy XIV has been a shining star in the MMORPG genre. With success such as this, it isn’t hard to believe that Square Enix could make another co-op title.
Final Fantasy XVI is the next title in the Final Fantasy games franchise. This action RPG would be great to play online with friends or to join someone in local co-op. So is there co-op in Final Fantasy 16 is it just a single-player experience?
Will Final Fantasy 16 have co-op?
Unfortunately, Final Fantasy 16 does not have multiplayer of any kind. This includes online co-op and local co-op. It also won’t have a multiplayer mode like Final Fantasy XV did. While Final Fantasy 16 won’t be a multiplayer game, it will offer a form of online interactivity for players to experience.
Those who have their PlayStation connected to the internet will be able to view leaderboards in Final Fantasy 16 though it won’t be an online-only game. Those hoping to play the game online will need to wait and see if the game gets an online DLC.
There are some comrades that you will be able to play with in the game such as Clive Rosfield’s dog Torgal who will participate in combat alongside you. The gameplay of Final Fantasy 16 is a solely single-player experience filled with quests and a magnificent adventure that will take you all over the land of Valisthea.
Those hoping to play the game on other platforms or consoles like Xbox and PC should know that FF16 is also a PlayStation Exclusive.
You can try out the Final Fantasy 16 demo before downloading the full game to get a good feel for the combat and the abilities you will learn. The demo allows you to play through the game’s prologue, learning about the Eikons and Dominants along the way.
