There are plenty of weapons that you can get in Final Fantasy 16 through exploration and crafting. Each new sword you obtain is a badge of honor to show you are progressing in the game.
When you want a new weapon made, there is none better than Blackthorne, the blacksmith at Cide’s Hideaway. One of the best weapons in the game is Gotterdammerung. This sword is the best one to enter a new game with.
You will need to do a lot in Final Fantasy 16 if you want to craft Gotterdammerung. You must gather materials like Orichalcum and Darksteel. You must slay notorious marks that are more difficult than other foes in the game. This guide will show you how to get Gotterdammerung in Final Fantasy 16.
How to craft Gotterdammerung sword in Final Fantasy 16
In order to get Gotterdammerung in Final Fantasy XVI, the first step is to collect Orichalcum. To obtain this crafting material, you need to defeat the following notorious marks found on the hunt board:
- Atlas, The Breaker of Worlds:
- Found in a field to the east of Cressida. This location is near Martha’s Rest and Eastpool.
- Svarog, Ruin Reawakened:
- Found in Mornebrume in the southeast of Sanbreque.
- Gorgimera, The Tricephalic Terror:
- Found in the Velkroy Desert in the Dhalmekian Republic.
- The Behemoth King:
- Found southeast of the Vidargraes Obelisk in Waloed.
The final piece of Orichalcum can be obtained by completing the Under New Management II side quest in Northreach.
Now you need to go through the process of collecting Darksteel. This is done by defeating the following Notorious Marks:
- Grim Reaper – The Prince of Death
- Found in Cape Orsiere in Sanbreque.
- Thanatos – Usher to the Underworld
- Found on the path from the Gilded Path to Kretov.
Along with defeating these Notorious Marks, you will need to complete the following side quests:
- Blacksmith Blues
- Blacksmith Blues II
- Blacksmith Blues III
- Blacksmith Blues IV
Completing these side quests will get you the Ragnarok Sword – one of the many materials needed to craft Gotterdammerung.
Up next, you need to obtain the Primitive Battlehorn. This is done by defeating the Notorious Mark named Gobermouch located on top of a building south of the Maudlin Mason in Eistla.
Now that all of this has been completed, you can head back to Blackthorne and finally create the Gotterdammerung sword.
