Final Fantasy 16 is a game about exploration and getting revenge. While there may not be an open world, there is plenty to see and questing to do. Throughout the game, you will receive rewards that will help Clive and his allies get further.

Square Enix has built another world of magic for you to explore. One of the many systems in the game is known as Renown. It is a system that has appeared in other games like World of Warcraft and Diablo IV.

There is much to experience throughout Final Fantasy XVI from the thrilling combat system to exploring the wide world of Valisthea – all while collecting Renown. What is Renown in Final Fantasy 16?

What is Renown in Final Fantasy 16?

You can think of Renown as a special type of experience. Renown is essentially your reputation score in Final Fantasy 16. It directly links to donations and other rewards that you will receive.

Once you gain access to Cid’s Hideaway, you will be able to speak to a woman named Desiree. The unlocking conditions of the hideaway are unknown. After being unlocked, speak to Desiree to set up the Renown system.

To increase your Renown, you will need to slay marks on the hunt board. In Cid’s Hideaway, you will see a bounty board with various enemies that need to be taken out. Slay these creatures for Renown Rewards.

Once you have increased your Renown level enough, you will start getting donations from various NPCs. Your level of Renown correlates to what rewards you get. You can be rewarded with various materials to use in crafting, treasures, and even ability/skill points that you can use to increase your combat abilities with your sword.

This is one of the more interesting parts of gameplay in Final Fantasy 16 along with the massive Eikon battles. Make sure when you are completing hunt missions that you bring a potion or two with you for healing purposes.
