Forza Motorsport 8 is on its way to an official release on multiple consoles and platforms. With pre-orders available now, it’s vital to know what platforms they are and whether or not one would be able to play the game if they bought it. Will that be the case for those with an Xbox One?
Does Xbox One have Forza Motorsport 8?
No, sadly, the Xbox One will not have access to Forza Motorsport 8. It is the first game in the franchise, whether the Motorsport or Forza Horizon line, to not be accessible on the Xbox One. It’s a new day in gaming.
The Forza franchise is exclusive to Xbox. All of them, ranging from the original to Motorsport 7, have been Xbox games only. At the showcase earlier this year, Microsoft confirmed that that would remain the case, but that it would essentially be a next-gen exclusive.
The only console, since the One is being phased out, that can run the new Forza Motorsport is the Xbox Series X|S. PC is not considered a console, but it does have access to the game. Despite its presence on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which many One players have, it is not available on the console now or after the release date.
When the official launch date arrives in October, it will not be available for Xbox One fans. There are simply too many upgrades to the gameplay that made it too much for the older generation of gaming console to handle. Improved physics, graphics, photorealistic visuals, improved AI racers, and more are being introduced. Ray tracing is coming, with real-time ray tracing on the track, and that’s not something the Xbox One can really handle.
Pre-order Forza Motorsport now (either the Deluxe Edition or Premium Edition), but only if you have a Series X|S and not an Xbox One. Otherwise, you’ll be out of luck and will have to get a new console. The latest from Turn 10 Studios, which was revealed at Xbox Games Showcase, is pushing gamers into the current era. Last-gen gamers will have to play other racing games.
