The sequel to the beloved Guerilla Games‘ Horizon Zero Dawn is out, having been released on February 18th 2022. 5 Years after the first game, the Action RPG saw a thrilling adventure and story in a post-apocalyptic war that saw humanity in a more primal and tribal state fighting against deadly and dangerous animalistic machines. Players take on the mantle of Aloy, a hunter who sets out into the world to prove herself to her people as a hunter.

Although the game is set to release on the PS4 and PS5 only (sadly there’s no PC port for the game just yet), that being said… This new game can cost a pretty penny for anyone interested. And especially egregious is that the PS5 version has no special properties other than being a copy of the game for the new gen console, Sony are charging customers an extra £10 just for the PS5 copy of the game.

But there is a way you can bypass this extra charge. Players can purchase the PS4 copy of the game and get the free upgrade to the PS5 copy, completely bypassing the extra charge and saving you £10. However, you’ll either need a PS4 console to buy the game on, or you’ll need to buy it on the PS Store online.

But don’t worry, if you’ve got a physical copy of the disc, you can still bypass the extra cost. You simply need to put your disc into your PS5 and you’ll see the option to upgrade and download the PS5 version. But you’ll still need an internet connection to download the upgrade, which you’ll also need to make the most of the the inevitable day-one patch.

It’s a pity that Sony are choosing to scrape the barrel for any kind of money, despite the high praise that Horizon Forbidden West is receiving, this attempt to needlessly charge more might sour the taste of the overall game to some players.
