Blizzard brings back the beloved blood and gore with the latest entry in the Diablo franchise, Diablo IV. Filled with new weapons, new classes, and a new campaign to defeat the hateful Lilith, it’s easy to see why fans are eager to get in. How long will it take you to get into Diablo IV? We’re here to tell you the queue times.

What are the queue times for Diablo 4?

The good news is that, unlike the open beta, this is the game proper and the servers will be at their best. There isn’t any official time yet, but the release of Diablo IV should see much shorter, if any, queue times, even at the game’s peak. Blizzard feels confident going into launch that the servers will be able to handle players, even though there’s no way to test the actual stress the release will put on the servers. Preloading the game also allows you to get in as soon as it launches.

Diablo IV’s open beta, the Server Slam, saw some pretty long queue times, with some getting up to 40 to 50 minutes. Blizzard warned that the queue times for the beta would be unprecedentedly high because they needed to properly stress test their systems. Many queuers saw around 20-minute wait times if they logged in exactly when the servers opened.

Although some users saw queue times up to an hour at a time, it is down to server issues. So it won’t always be the case, as such you can expect the queues to drop down as the number of users hits the login screen.

Why are the queue times so long in Diablo 4?

Intentionally long beta queue times allow the dev team to adjust their systems accordingly so the release on June 6, 2023 would go a lot smoother. It allows the servers to stay up and not crash with how many hit them to get in and makes sure everyone gets a good experience.

Diablo IV has plenty of new features, with five different classes including Rogue, Sorcerer, Necromancer, Druid, and Barbarian, as well as plenty of new dungeons and quests for adventurers to explore across the open world of Sanctuary. With a game filled to the brim with content like this one, it makes sense that Blizzard would want to make sure the servers were at their strongest with lengthy queue times.

Diablo IV releases on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. Make sure your specs are optimal so you can get into the game as fast as you can.
