There’s no doubt that Hogwarts Legacy has managed to make every Harry Potter fan’s childhood dream come true. After all, with such an in-depth character creation process, we can literally put ourselves in the shoes of wizards.

Well, what about those who don’t want to do that? Some players might want to stay faithful to the source material and play the game as our favorite scarred protagonist, Harry Potter (or should we say the boy who lived?)

If you’re one of those people, then worry not as we’ll be teaching you how to make your character look exactly like Harry Potter, or at least as close to him as possible.

Before we go through the customization options you’ll have to apply, it’s important we acknowledge the elephant in the room. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, then you probably know the fact that although Daniel Radcliffe’s portrayal of Harry Potter was amazingly done, there are some key physical differences between the movie and book versions of the character.

Because of this, we’ll be going through both versions one by one, so you can pick the one you like best to use for your new Hogwarts Legacy character’s look.

Movie version

First of all, let’s go through the movie version, which is arguably the more popular variant, as many of us grew up watching Daniel Radcliffe’s portrayal of Harry Potter in the movie series.

If you want to make your character look like the movie version of Harry Potter, apply the settings below on the character creation screen.

  • Face shape: Third option
  • Skin color: First option
  • Glasses: First option
  • Hair color: Fourth option
  • Hairstyle: 43rd option
  • Complexion: (none)
  • Freckles and moles: (none)
  • Scars and markings: Ninth option
  • Eye color: 12th option
  • Eyebrow color: First option
  • Eyebrow shape: Second option
  • Voice: Voice one
  • Pitch: Third option

By applying all these settings accurately, you’ll immediately notice the striking resemblance between the movie version of Harry Potter and your newly made character.

Book version

Of course, it isn’t necessary that you grew up watching the Harry Potter movies, as many of us grew up reading the books instead. Because of this, you might have a greater connection with the book version of Harry Potter, urging you to make your Hogwarts Legacy character look like him.

If this applies to you, or if you just like the book version more (there’s a certain charm to the book version’s messy hair), then simply apply the customization options we’ve mentioned below.

  • Face shape: Third option
  • Skin color: First option
  • Glasses: First option
  • Hair color: First option
  • Hairstyle: 10th option
  • Complexion: (none)
  • Freckles and moles: (none)
  • Scars and markings: Ninth option
  • Eye color: 18th option
  • Eyebrow color: First option
  • Eyebrow shape: Second option
  • Voice: Voice one
  • Pitch: Third option

Apply these exact settings, and you’ll successfully make your character look as similar as possible to the book version of Harry Potter.

Can I use Harry Potter’s scar in Hogwarts Legacy?

There is a selection of scars and markings for you to choose from when building your character in Hogwarts Legacy. In fact, you can even change certain features such as this later on in the game in Hogsmeade. Scars and markings can be found under the ‘Complexion’ tab during character creation, just before you edit your character’s eyebrows.

Thankfully there are plenty of options for complexion, freckles and moles, and scars and markings. Unfortunately, Harry Potter’s iconic lightning bolt scar is not among them, though there are some similar options available. The choice not to include this particular marking seems to have divided some fans on Reddit.

After making your Harry Potter look-alike character, all you’ll have to do is ensure he gets sorted in the Gryffindor house and roams the Hogwarts corridors wearing the robes and other accessories of that particular house.
