There are many ways that you can customize your characters and build in Diablo 4 but some of the main ways are weapons, armor, and skills. You have the opportunity to make your character truly your own by equipping specific armors and creating a build that works to your playstyle.
Each piece of gear you collect can have its stats increased by equipping some pieces of jewelry to it called gems. The gem type that you use will give your gear specific upgrades that you can’t get otherwise. This guide will show you how to socket gems in Diablo 4.
How to socket and unsocket gems in Diablo 4
There are multiple gem types that you can find throughout Diablo 4. Once you pick up a gem, you will want to place it on a weapon or armor piece to give it an upgrade. To equip a gem, start by bringing up your inventory. Make sure you have the sockets required for the gem.
With your inventory pulled up, simply select a gem with your cursor and place it on the weapon or armor piece that you wish to use it on. It is that simple. Unsocketing gems, on the other hand, takes a bit more time.
If you want to unsocket a gem from your gear, you will need to visit a jeweler. Once at a jeweler, navigate to the unsocket gems tab. From there, simply click on the unsocket gem button. This will remove the gem from the gear you select.
