The Wither Rose is a destructive flower in Minecraft that affects anything it touches with the Wither status effect, including the player, making it one of just two Minecraft flowers that cause damage (the Sweet Berry Bush is the other), and provides an additional use than just colored dye. This makes it a particularly useful resource for keeping away harmful mobs. While it can be used for procuring black dye, getting the Wither Rose is tricky, so you’ll be better off using Squid Ink Sacs for the latter. Regardless, if you still want some Wither Roses, you’ll need to know exactly how to cultivate a Wither Rose farm without causing yourself any damage. 

How to Get Wither Rose in Minecraft

Players would expect that Wither Roses are found in the Nether, but they can actually sprout up in the Overworld or anywhere else, as long as a Wither kills another mob, but they are unavailable in peaceful difficulty due to the absence of hostile mobs.  

You cannot pick up a Wither Rose with your bare hand in Minecraft since they cause damage, but they can be harvested with a tool. Alternatively, you can get a Wither Rose using a command if cheats are enabled, and they can of course be found in the Minecraft Creative Inventory. 

While it can be done anywhere, the best, safest and most lucrative place to make a Wither Rose farm is actually in the end, by encouraging a trapped Wither to kill the many Endermen that spawn there. Here’s one example of a Wither Rose farm from Shulkercraft on YouTube.

How to Use Wither Rose in Minecraft

Here’s what you can do once you have a Wither Rose in Minecraft. 

1. Black Dye: Wither Roses are recognisable as the only Minecraft flower that is black in color, and are one of only two ways of producing Black Dye in Minecraft. It’s a more efficient way of mass-producing black dye when compared to Squid Farms since Wither Roses multiply into farms at a really fast pace, but it’s far more dangerous. 
2. Suspicious Stew: Suspicious Stew is one of the recipes that can be crafted with Wither Roses, and it is a potent way of delivering the Wither Effect to a mob or player. You can make a Suspicious Stew with one Wither Rose, Brown Mushroom, Red Mushroom, and Bowl. 
3. Creating Traps: Does your loot keep disappearing? Create a trap with a Wither Rose as the end-prize to get rid of this problem conveniently. 

Wither Roses can do more than give a player black dye, especially when used as a weapon against mobs immune to Magma blocks.
