Are you wondering if Starfield is next-gen only? The game created by Bethesda Game Studios is looking to be the next-generation RPG that spans the entire galaxy and beyond. Previously, the team created games like Fallout and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which are on a much smaller scale.
There are plenty of planets to explore in Starfield and amazing features like in-depth character creation. In the game, there are two factions; the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective. Your goal is to track down ancient relics and weapons across the universe.
If Starfield is next-gen only, does that mean it will be on Xbox Series X/S? Is Microsoft stopping the game from coming to PlayStation? The universe is a large place with plenty of planets to explore. Pre order the game to get early access. Is Starfield next-gen only?
Is Starfield only on next gen consoles?
Starfield will be playable on Xbox One but it won’t be coming to the console. Officially, the next-generation role-playing game is only coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S making it next-gen exclusive for release. However, if you want to play the game on Xbox One, you can do so through Xbox Cloud gaming.
If you want to play the game using cloud gaming, you will need an Xbox Game Pass subscription. Starfield will also be an Xbox exclusive title thanks to Microsoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax Media and Bethesda Softworks.
Starfield also has pretty demanding specs which will make it difficult for all PCs to play it. This will limit the number of platforms the game can be played on. Of course, this doesn’t mean the game won’t be Steam Deck compatible as well.
At launch, Starfield will only be available on select consoles. Thankfully, it is not entirely next-gen. Unfortunately, it will only be available on the Xbox One in the last-gen console lineup.
