Is there a limit to the number of ships you can own in Starfield? With the amount of space travel you need to do for quests it is good to have an extra ship or two. After all, one might get damaged in combat or not have enough cargo space.

Whether it is going out on missions or visiting various planets, having multiple ships registered is a good idea. Having multiple ships also means you can have different weapon layouts, shields, and reactors, giving each ship something special.

You are bound to get more ships as you progress through Starfield. You can get new ships as rewards for completing quests. You can also craft your own ships. If you want, you can add more ships with the help of mods. What is the limit though? How many ships can you have in Starfield?

How many ships can you have in Starfield?

You can have multiple ships in Starfield. The number of ships you can own is limited to 10. At any one time, you can have up to 10 ships waiting for you at a spaceport but you can only have one active ship at a time, meaning you can’t have your crew members pilot the others.

At any time, you can go to a ship services technician at a spaceport to view your inventory of ships. Through the ship technician, you can also upgrade your ships and change which ship is currently your home ship. If you want more ships, you will need to sell older ones if you are at your limit.

Ship technicians are at each of the major cities in the game such as Neon, New Atlantis, and Akila City. There are some in other areas as well.

The first ship that you get is the Frontier. As the game progresses and you enhance your pilot skill, you can get better ships with different parts like enhanced grav drives, bigger fuel tanks, more powerful missiles, stronger hull, and better overall components.
