Computex is always a great event to look forward to for tech enthusiasts. And now we round up the best CPU coolers at Computex 2023. With innovations to show off and what’s to come to the market coming soon, and so these can deck out your next PC build.
There are plenty of companies offering some cooling improvements. ranging from Corsair innovating connectivity, and Thermaltake expanding AIOs, to Noctua taking 8 years to develop one fan. As such there is plenty to look at and consider when looking to build your PC in the coming years.
Corsair iCUE Link AIOs and blocks
Now Corsair expands its liquid cooling range with the iCUE Link-enabled coolers. These are an innovation and change to the cable mess you get with Corsair’s previous cooling options. What might have required two cables at a time for each fan and separate for the cooling block now connects with just one cable.
A wonder for the cable management and clean aesthetics that even motherboards are aiming for. Makes it much simpler and easier time build and enjoy your build. Clipping together fans and just using a connection to a hub, are all powered off of one option and are much easier to connect to iCUE software. So there you get access to either LCD or RGB AIOs along with blocks for custom cooling.
Lian Li Galahad II LCD AIO
Lian Li has shown off a range of products for its lineup. Included in that is the Lian Li Galahad II LCD AIO. The all-in-one cooler utilizes a new pump design from Asetek and includes a 2.88″ LCD screen with a resolution of 480×480 on top of the pump. It also has a light strip down the side of it, trying to add some color and fun to the cooling solutions.
Capable of carrying 3 minutes of MP4 files on 2GB of flash memory, it has the potential for a great look. You get access to this via the Lian Li L-Connect 3 software to customize your cooler and monitor temps in real-time.
Noctua’s 8 year development and offset mounting
The NH-D15 is an all-around great cooler but has now been around for quite a few years. And although it’s been quiet, Noctuia has developed a Gen 2 version over the past 8 years. With an improved fan design, it has improved airflow through the heatsinks and so the cooling of it. It aims to be out in Q2 of 2024 for the increased heat pipe number and offset as well.
Another development that Noctua is introducing is offset die contact and direct die contact to AM5. Promoting the use of anything to improve the cooling, in any way possible. First, by having a different mount spot, the cooler better covers the areas of the new AMD platform. And then voiding your warranty by taking off the IHS, the direct die option certainly is the way to cool. Both together can lower temperatures between 11-19°C
Hyte THICC Q60
As Gamers Nexus shows off, Hyte is expanding on its build possibilities for the Hyte Y60. It has a cooler to fit into the side of the radiator and utilize the large space between it and the graphics card. With a much thicker radiator, it does also require quite a powerful fan focused on static pressure. Even for just the name, it would get top marks.
But it also features a 720×1280 screen that can be controlled and certainly gives you a lot more playroom to fit all your memes on. It is in a prototype stage and so might be some time before it comes out.
